Meat or Greens?..

Meat or Greens?..

In the twenty-first century, we see a proliferation of new approaches to daily life and alternative ways of living. People are choosing to become vegetarian for a multitude of reasons. In our day-to-day routines, phrases like "diabetes, cancer, and heart disease have become fashionable" are frequently uttered. Although arguments centred on genetic inheritance or stress levels are commonly raised—particularly within the chaotic rhythms of major cities—it remains an inescapable fact that this is largely connected to what we consume. Indeed, it has been scientifically proven that heart disease and cholesterol levels drop in individuals who follow a plant-based diet.

Is it genetics, or is it what we eat? When we experience health issues, the first questions asked are always: "Is there a history of diabetes, cancer, or heart disease in your family?" If you look at the statistics, at least one of these ailments is present in our family members as a genetic inheritance. However, their dietary habits are no different from ours either! If we continue to eat this way, we will pass these illnesses onto our children as well, starting right from our dining tables. Therefore, even if a genetic predisposition exists, it is vital that we alter our diet and way of life so as to avoid triggering it.

The great protein debate! It is well known that those who decide to go vegan or vegetarian are frequently judged with warnings that they will "run out of protein"—let us examine that matter for a moment. Contrary to what we are accustomed to, the protein a human being requires does not exist solely in meat products! Eating meat is by no means a necessity to acquire protein. You might be astonished to learn that the consumer is merely obtaining recycled protein from the animal; that is to say, animals consume plants to absorb protein, and humans then ingest this protein secondhand from the animal. Surely you must know that all protein is originally created by plants! Moreover, animal protein triggers IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor-1).

There are facts of such a nature that one is left utterly bewildered in the face of what we have been taught for generations. Only plants possess the ability to take nitrogen from the air, break the molecules down, convert them into amino acids, and produce protein. Simply put, protein obtained from animals is merely protein recycled from plants.

For instance, consuming bulgur and broccoli is entirely sufficient to satisfy your protein requirements. Green foods, beans, and vegetables are storehouses of protein. Another vital nutrient, Omega-3, is abundant in walnuts. You can obtain this nutrient simply by consuming them a few times a week. There is no need to constantly eat fish! It is also important to replace saturated and trans fats with peanuts, olive oil, and rapeseed oil.

It has been anatomically proven that from their dental structure to their jaw alignment, humans are inherently frugivorous (frugivore). Humans do not possess a mixed anatomy like bears, raccoons, or certain canines. Our canine teeth are entirely unsuited to killing and devouring a living creature with our mouths. Nor can we digest raw meat! Consequently, ingesting animal tissue is not required to obtain protein. In fact, most of the animals utilized in the meat industry are herbivores—plant-eating species! Furthermore, the largest animals on this planet are all herbivores.

Do not dismiss meat lightly! Sweatshop labourers in the meat industry openly state in documentaries—with their faces concealed—that meat should not be consumed. In America, two hundred and twenty cows are slaughtered every single hour. That is approximately more or less four cows a minute! This means that all the animal's waste products end up mingled with the meat. Pork chops carry fecal bacteria at a rate of eighty-eight per cent; ninety per cent of beef and ninety-five per cent of chicken breasts harbour animal bacteria in exactly the same way. And it does not end there! They simply cut open and drain areas of purulent inflammation, which frequently mixes into the final products. We can only watch with absolute revulsion how food is produced for those "famous" fast-food chains originating in America and spreading across the globe.

Does your stomach turn in the face of this greed, disease, and exploitation? Clearly, the issue has moved far beyond merely whether to eat meat or not. Is chicken meat? Do not say, "But it's white meat!" Studies have proved that processed chicken emits carcinogenic substances. We are well aware that chickens pumped with hormones to make their frames look larger appear entirely artificial rather than real meat. Processed chicken meat increases a man's risk of developing prostate cancer, and raises the likelihood of recurrence in recovered patients by four per cent. The same questions surface in our minds: why do cancer charities continue to include chicken as white meat on their lists of healthy foods? I have already stated the reason above...

And... eggs too? Yes, eggs as well! We are taught to think of eggs as highly beneficial; at least, that is the package presented to us. Regrettably, consuming a single egg every day shortens one's life expectancy as much as smoking five cigarettes a day. An egg yolk sustains a chick for twenty-one days without any external energy source, meaning it is purely a concentrated store of fat and cholesterol!

The World Health Organisation places processed meat products at the very top of its list of carcinogens, right alongside cigarettes and plutonium. Red meat occupies the second spot on the list. Yet, on the list of preventative measures against disease, the matter of diet is never touched upon—until one falls ill. Why? In this thoroughly degraded system, it is a case of everyone lining their own pockets; there is a catch everywhere, dirty games at every turn! Then, they are cooked and end up poisoning us at our tables... Processed meat triggers cancer; a daily consumption of fifty grams of processed meat increases the risk of colorectal cancer. And what are these processed meat products? For example, those elaborately wrapped, pumped-up sausages, salamis, and cured meats that sit on supermarket shelves, packed tightly like stones, are all products carrying carcinogenic elements.

Diabetes! Three hundred and fifteen million people live with diabetes. So, what is the connection between diabetes and what we eat? It is this: most of the time, we believe diabetes is solely related to the consumption of 'sugar'. Yet that is not the case. If we do not alter our dietary habits and choices, soon one in every three people will be diabetic. Those who believe diabetes stems from sugar are in grave error. The true cause of diabetes is the fat content in the body bleeding into the bloodstream. When the warning bells toll, please pay attention to the recommended foods; in short, anything green is now your only true ally!

Cancer! Only five to ten per cent of all cancers are genetic. The campaigns of charities offering support to cancer patients present lists of foods to consumers, yet regrettably, these lists are incomplete! A textbook case of a fixed match, surely! We no longer know who or what to believe. When you look at the websites of these international charities and do a bit of research, you see that their funding comes from advertisements paid for by corporate giants like McDonald's and KFC! Naturally, they are going to recommend these products, portraying meat, chicken, and eggs as entirely harmless. The funding flows beautifully, a veritable waterfall—splendid!

The vital significance of nutrition. Particularly in America and European nations, obesity has become the underlying cause of almost all diseases. Fast-food outlets are expanding in chains, and right alongside them, human bodies! A vast number of people lose their lives to cardiovascular diseases at a very young age. Although some doctors still recommend eating meat—perhaps because they cannot bring themselves to give it up—the majority of health professionals insist that we must consume vegetables and fruit. Advertisements for fruit and veg are on the rise in health clinics. In short, the fundamental issue lies within the foods we consume; would you not agree that attributing illnesses solely to stress is a bit of an easy cop-out?

The hazards of milk and dairy... We stubbornly recommend that babies, followed by children and the elderly, should drink cow's or goat's milk to stay healthy. It is treated as an essential nutrient that is never missing from our homes! The reality is that human beings do not require the milk of any other living creature to maintain a healthy diet. Every drop of milk contains hormones. The exact same truth applies to organic milk. Regrettably, dairy products also contain inflammation and pus. So much so that there are even laws regulating its permitted limits! As we now know, dairy products do not strengthen bones either. Studies indicate that osteoporosis is a leading ailment precisely in countries where dairy consumption is at its highest.

Scientists classify cheese as coagulated cow pus. We frequently hear people who love and consume cheese describe their attachment as a veritable addiction—and I include myself among them! Casein protein—the primary protein found in dairy—breaks down during human digestion to create "casomorphins"; did you know that these morphine-like compounds derived from casein travel to the brain and dock at the exact same receptors as heroin?.. Of course, the effect is not as intense or immediate, but it explains why we love it with an almost addictive passion. Human breast milk contains two point seven grams of casein per litre, whereas cow's milk contains twenty-six grams. A full ten times more! On top of that, consider the drugs pumped into animals on factory farms! I won't even venture into that territory.

In conclusion, these studies have been carried out for fifty years. Just as we fail to look after ourselves, we are failing to protect our children's health. Perhaps our starting point will arrive when we think of those we love most; after all, lately, a vast number of youths and children are choosing to go vegan on their own accord. This is thoroughly astonishing! Perhaps children will be the ones to teach us adults that we need to return to our true nature...
